Kelly's Story - The "Pre" Proposal
It was sort of an proposal for a very real engagement.

Very soon after we had begun dating (we were walking through a Mall in Montreal at the time), I was just rambling on, talking to him, and he stopped me and asked me quite seriously ... 'Are you my twin?'. He jokingly 'threw the stakes down and made his claim' on me that day. He even said, 'We're going to be together.'  I was a bit taken aback at first.   I wanted to take it slow and see where it lead.  But Andy was so sure of the two of us being meant for each other.  He was right.

He had been talking about wanting to marry me for a while. I would always say jokingly, 'Don't propose unless you have a ring!' (I had been proposed to THREE times before in my life, but none of them had a ring. I wanted to do it right.) I would also remind him that, 'It takes at least a year to plan a wedding!' and leave it at that.

Finally, in late october, he said to me, 'Sweety, with the investment in the house and and another piece of real estate, I can't get you a ring right now. I will get you one by this spring, but start planning for the wedding now.'

I was stunned. My heart beat very fast when I realized that THIS was a proposal! It didn't hit me fully until we had a date and a location. I couldn't stop shaking. We're really getting married!

Kelly's Story - The Actual Proposal
I had kind of suspected it was coming...  But Who Cares!   It came!  WOOHOO!

Andy and I had decided to go skiing at Waterville Valley for the 14th of February.  At first it was only planned to be a day trip, we'd go up that morning, then come home that evening and then perhaps go out to a Valentine's dinner.   Then Wednesday morning, (Feb 11) Andy suggested that we spend the night up at a Waterville Inn, and ski on Sunday too.  He found a little place called "Snowy Owl Inn" and got us a studio room!  He even made dinner reservations that evening at the hotel's "Valentine's" dinner!

So, Saturday, we head up north, and ski most of the day.  (Little did I know at the time... he had carried something "special" in his ski jacket the entire day because he didn't want to leave it in his car.)  After we (hehe ok... I ) got tired, we left to check in to the hotel and hang out until dinner.   We checked in, went back to the hotel room (There was champagne and candy in the room!) and took showers (we were a bit sweaty from skiing all day).  We then dressed and walked around downtown waterville, poking around in the toy and bookstore, as well as some other shops.  Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and hung around the lobby fireplace and chilled, just relaxing and taking it easy.

At around 6ish, we headed for the hotel restaurant and had dinner (I had the chicken, he had the steak). We had to wait a bit for our entrees, so the restaurant provided drinks on the house!  Cool huh?

Ok........ now for the good part.    After stuffing ourselves on dinner, we went back to our hotel room.   I then gave him his Valentine's day present (A BMW tie, a BMW coffee mug, and 3 pairs of boxers!).  Then he told me to sit on the end of the bed, and close my eyes.   I was shaking at this point, how could I NOT know what was coming... It was Valentine's Day!  After accusing me (jokingly) of peeking, he finally told me to open my eyes.   When I did, he was there in front of me, on both knees, and holding up an open ring box with a beautiful princess cut diamond ring inside (cathedral setting).   He then asked sweetly, "Will you marry me?"   I immediately said, "YES!" and threw my arms around him.  He even put the ring on my finger.  I was shaking and so happy!    It's OFFICIAL!  AND the best part!   I got TWO proposals from the SAME man!   YES!
